To me, pottery is presence, failure, passion, pressure, love, flaws, warmth, cracks, nature, home. My childhood was filled with impactful aromas, nurtured creativity, fervent depth, grit, intimacy. I grew up in rural Maine, the middle daughter of an earnest, hardworking, logger/farmer father and an unequivocally devoted mother. The pace was slow; nature and creativity were everpresent.

I now live in coastal Maine, juggling myriad priorities and roles within my own work and family, yet currently at odds with the speed of life; its hectic pull toward distraction, superficiality… I crave serenity, simplicity.

This project is an attempt toward resetting; devoted to birthing pieces evocative of the cozy, timeless, intangible depth that I have been so molded by. I strive to again appreciate the small things, to pause and introspect, to fail. I hope that my pieces—imperfect, honest, grounded—can complement your own home and experience.
